I am Heather and work at HealthPartners, in Patient Accounting. I believe in the power of collective action and want to help lead Local 12 into a stronger, more united future. With my leadership skills, direct communication style, and commitment to transparency, I want to ensure every member feels heard, valued, and included. This isn’t just *the* union—it’s *our* union.
My goal is to foster solidarity, bring fresh ideas for both education and engagement, and create opportunities for us to grow stronger together. This is an all-hands-on-deck moment. Let’s stand up, stand together, and make Local 12 the best it’s ever been!

Kristy Watts
Miscellaneous Sector Representative
I’m Kristy Watts, my employer is Wilson McShane. I have been a Local 12 member since 2020, and I’ve been a union steward for almost two years now.
When I first stepped into this role, I didn’t realize just how powerful it could be to help someone find their voice — to see that moment when a coworker realizes they do have a say, that they do matter, and that they’re not alone. That’s what keeps me going.
I believe our real strength comes from unity and understanding. The more informed we are, the stronger we become — not just as a union, but as people who have each other’s backs.
For me, being a steward isn’t just about filing grievances or showing up at meetings. It’s about helping people feel heard, respected, and empowered to speak up for what’s right. That’s what builds solidarity — and solidarity is what gets results.
So, let’s keep learning, keep showing up, and keep standing together. Because every voice matters — and together, our voices can move mountains.
